Getting WordPress more ‘comfy,’ less frustrating might get me to blog more often!

Here’s my latest imaginary “Book I’d write if I made the time”: Tradeoffs: The Imperfect Art of Living a Happily Imperfect Life. Now doesn’t that just SOUND like a book you’d pick up and leaf through?

No?;-)

Well, life is full of tradeoffs, but the interface little issues of WordPress.com are bothering me – like when I write this, the black top toolbar disappears and I CANNOT find where to turn it on full-time!

Or that this type in the article writing area… is gray not black! Seriously?

OK, fixed! Well, the text color is black;-) How, you say? By finally PAYING for WordPress in my personal life (just a few bucks a month — not the blood, sweat and tears I pay in the very similar, I will work to make it pretty identical work site for KTVZ.COM) – for $8 a month, I finally went and picked a new theme (could I without the ponying up? Probably.) and the pay-for-WordPress.com also offers live chat, and maybe that’ll help me with the other issue!

And sure enough, an unnamed live-chat person at WP helped me wrestle some with the settings so I can get that black page-width toolbar atop the page even when I’m in writing/editing post mode. Yes, it’s just more ‘comfortable’/familiar to me to have that there all the time. I don’t think it’ll ‘stick,’ but I think I know how to bring it back if/when it disappears!

Or… I get used to working without it, as an ‘at-a-glance’ sign I’m in home/blog/fun mode not work/work/work mode;-)
